Month 1 complete: 29 concepts down

You made it through Month 1.
Twenty-nine weekdays. Twenty-nine concepts. If you've been reading since Day 1, you now have a working vocabulary for forex. You know what a currency pair is, how pips and lots work, what leverage does, why the spread exists, when liquidity peaks, and how central banks move markets.
That might not sound like much. But it's everything.
### What Month 1 was for
Most people who lose money in forex do so because they skip this part. They open a demo account, place a trade, watch the number go up or down, and assume they understand what's happening. They don't.
Month 1 was the cost of entry. The vocabulary layer. You can't read price action if you don't know what a pip is. You can't manage risk if you don't understand margin. You can't interpret news if you've never heard of a dovish central bank statement.
We built the foundation slowly, one term at a time, because that's the only way it sticks.
### A quick recap of what we covered
Here's the map:
- What forex is and why it exists (Days 1–2)
- Currency pairs: base, quote, majors, minors, exotics (Days 3–6)
- Pips, pipettes, and lot sizes — the units of movement and position size (Days 7–10)
- Leverage and margin — the double-edged tools that define retail forex (Days 11–14)
- Bid, ask, and spread — the built-in cost of every trade (Days 15–17)
- Market sessions and when liquidity actually matters (Days 18–21)
- Order types: market, limit, stop, stop-loss, take-profit (Days 22–26)
- Central banks and interest rates — the biggest single driver of currency prices (Days 27–29)
Twenty-nine ideas. None of them optional.
### What changes in Month 2
Starting tomorrow, we pivot from vocabulary to observation. You'll learn to read a chart. What a candlestick is. What support and resistance mean. How to spot a trend and when it's actually just noise.
This is where it gets harder.
Definitions are clean. Charts are messy. Price doesn't move in straight lines. Patterns fail. Support breaks. Trends reverse without warning. And unlike vocabulary, there's no single right answer—just better and worse ways to interpret what you're seeing.
Month 2 will feel slower. That's by design.
### A note for Filipino readers
If you're an OFW, a BPO worker in Metro Manila, or someone in the provinces watching YouTube forex videos at night after your day job—this series is for you. Not because forex is your ticket out. It's not. Most retail traders lose money, and that will stay true no matter how many posts you read.
But if you're going to try, you deserve to start with the truth. No hype. No shortcuts. Just the actual map.
You've done one month. That puts you ahead of everyone who quit on Day 3 because it wasn't flashy enough.
### What to do next
If you missed any posts, go back. The order matters. Day 12 won't make sense if you skipped Day 8.
If you've been taking notes—good. Keep doing that. Write down the terms in your own words. Test yourself. Use them in sentences. Make them yours.
And if you've been itching to open a chart and "just try it," hold off one more month. Let the foundation set. Month 2 will get you there.
The vocabulary is done. The real work begins now.
